Welcome to NUWOSO
WELCOME TO NUWOSO

Northern Uganda Widows and Orphans Support Organisation (NUWOSO) is a women-led, women’s rights, humanitarian and development-focused National NGO in Uganda.
Founded in 2005 by women survivors of conflict, HIV/AIDS and disaster in Northern Uganda, NUWOSO has grown from a grassroots community initiative into an organisation working to empower and build the resilience of women and children across Uganda.
Rooted in community participation and local knowledge, we work with the most vulnerable and marginalised women, children and youth, including persons with disabilities, to promote health, protection, education, livelihoods, rights, dignity and equal opportunities.
Through our integrated programmes, we support women and children in overcoming challenges, strengthening their resilience, and creating better, more secure futures.

Working Across Uganda
NUWOSO is a women-led national NGO working across Uganda. Our strongest presence is in Northern Uganda, including West Nile and Karamoja, where we run intensive programs that support women, children, youth and vulnerable communities through humanitarian, Development, and peacebuilding.
